If women were to disappear the whole world would fall apart – literally! The world’s population would reach a plateau and the global population would reduce dramatically over time… but that’s another blog post. For Women’s Health Week we’ve compiled a list of our health go-to’s for all of our fave femmes to incorporate in their life so they can get the most out of their health. 

  1. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Health checks are important, folks! We urge you to keep up to do date with your checks, as well as being as proactive as possible when you’re a little uncertain. Some of the common checks are breast checks, cervical screening and skin checks. We’ve also included a link to things we should be keeping an eye out for as well as and additional checks we need to be regularly getting. Just click here!

  1. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. 

While bottling up our emotions may seem convenient in the moment, it may have long-term effects – studies show that nearly 1 in 2 Australian women struggle with their mental health, that’s almost HALF of the Australian female population. Whether you’re struggling to balance your responsibilities or just need someone to vent to, it’s important to ask for help. This could look like seeing a therapist or catching up with your girl gang to completely unload for a solid fifteen minutes. There’s no shame in asking for help, so don’t let that stop you from living your best life!

  1. Get moving.

This is something we can all do and benefit from. Simply adding in a few extra minutes a day to walk or move our bodies has LOADS of benefits, such as improved brain function or lower stress levels. This could be as simple as dancing around your room to Queen B or a morning stretch routine. Here are some videos and YouTube accounts we LOVE and think you’ll love too:

  1. Take time to yourself. 

Sometimes all we need is a good hour or two to just breathe. Your time out could be a combination of time to yourself and going to the gym, or a treating yourself to a massage. These little acts of self-care are essential to our every health and mindset. You owe yourself GF!

  1. Eat!

While there are a lot of people and studies out there telling you to eat a certain way, we think you should just eat! If you have no evident allergies or intolerances, feel free to eat a varied diet so you heart and mind is happy. If there are specific nutrients you are lacking, look into food or supplement options to help you reach these goals. But more importantly, just remember to eat. You’d be surprised how much better you feel when you regularly eat wholesome, tasty food. 

Maintaining our health is super important and taking little steps towards our overall wellbeing is all we have to do to make a change!
